In Västervik Municipality, exciting work is underway regarding digitalization. To support this work, we are now creating a new cohesive unit for IT and digitalization. The unit will support the municipal group's operations to digitalize, streamline, and change working methods with the support of IT solutions.

We are looking for a network technician who wants to shape and develop our IT infrastructure, primarily our networks, together with our other employees.

Your Responsibilities

You will be one of our employees within the infrastructure group who support each other. You will have close collaboration with the system group and other employees within the IT unit. As a network technician, you will work with the operation, installation, maintenance, and management of our network environments. We have started a review of our network infrastructure to meet future needs, which will also be part of your work. You will work with:

• Operation and management of network equipment such as switches, routers, access points, firewalls, and VPN technology.
• Troubleshooting network issues and analyzing logs.
• System management of support systems related to the network infrastructure.
• Contributing to building and managing the network structure with a high security mindset.
• Supporting the organization in choosing technical solutions and participating in the evaluation of development initiatives.
• You will be responsible for implementation in specific assignments.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone with a post-secondary education focused on IT or equivalent relevant work experience and competence in the field that we at Västervik Municipality assess as equivalent. You also need to have a B driver's license. You have experience working as a network technician and good work experience with firewalls, switches, routers, and other network devices.

It is advantageous if you have knowledge of:

• Knowledge of servers (Windows/Linux), including installation, maintenance, and security.

You are a team player who enjoys collaborating and sharing your knowledge, while also having the ability to take your own initiatives and drive your work forward. It is also important that you can communicate fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written, and have good knowledge of English.

Before employment can be offered, a security review will be conducted, and the position may also require a security classification.
